We recently moved to Santo Domingo, but this city has been part of our lives for years. Every time we’re in town, one thing always stays the same: we love going out to eat and, if the mood is right, enjoying a good cocktail.
I’ve always been a fan of happy hour — it’s a great way to try new places, meet friends after a long day, and enjoy the city without overthinking plans or overspending. And if we’re being honest, happy hour is usually something people end up frantically Googling once they’re already hungry or ready to go out… if they even think to search for it at all.
So we curated this list of happy hour deals in Santo Domingo to make things easier. Instead of jumping from Instagram to Google Maps, you’ll find clear details here — including days, times, locations, and what exaclty the specials are. We’ve focused on neighborhoods we actually spend time in, like Zona Colonial, Piantini, Bella Vista, Santo Domingo Este and more.
Whether you’re visiting or living here, this happy hour guide is meant to help you enjoy the city the same way we do — one good meal, one good drink, and a well-timed happy hour at a time.

Notable Bar Mentions in Santo Domingo
Not every great bar in Santo Domingo offers a happy hour, but many are still worth the visit. If you’re coming from abroad, you may find that regular drink prices are often more affordable than what you’re used to. These are places we still enjoy and recommend, deal or not.
Bar & Museo Ron Dominicano | 📍 Zona Colonial
This is part history, part drinks and part party. Learn about the rum making process, enjoy a rum based cocktail and then dance the night away. Check out these unique cocktails.
Hasta la Tambora Lounge | 📍 Zona Colonial
Strictly a karaoke bar with live music, you know this place is a vibe. Their cocktails look creative with local flavors. Check out the drink and tapas menu here.
Vertygo 101 | 📍 Piantini
Not exactly rooftop, but this bar and lounge, 101 feet above the ground, in the JW Marriott Hotel is an upscale spot to enjoy a classic cocktail. Sit inside or outside with a skyline view - great place for the sunset.

Viralata | 📍 Bella Vista
Todo somos viralata. Love their slogan, so true. If you don't know what the means, ask a Dominican. Viralata is one of our favorite places to go in Santo Domingo. Their Dominican fusion menu is spot-on. Their cocktails are creative, with a beautiful presentation. See the menu here.
