I’m originally from the Washington, DC area, and my husband and I have lived in the Dominican Republic for over ten years

I didn’t move here for hospitality or tourism—I came because of a love for travel, curiosity, and meaningful experiences. Over time, that curiosity turned into deep familiarity with the country: how it works, how to move through it safely, and how to experience it beyond the surface.

Cliff & Cove grew naturally from that—out of research, planning, and years of exploring the DR in a very real, on-the-ground way.

Why The Name Cliff & Cove?

Cliff & Cove takes its name from the iconic lookout point in San Rafael, in the south of the Dominican Republic—a place that perfectly captures what this country offers when you slow down and look beyond the obvious.

There is incredible beauty here— cliffs, coves, mountains, rivers, coastlines, the people, vibrant culture and experiences that stay with you—but many visitors never get close to seeing it.

How I Plan Trips...

Over the years, we’ve stayed in everything from high-end villas to domes and glamped deep in nature. We’ve driven long stretches of road, explored remote corners of the country, and learned how to balance adventure with comfort.
